THU
Select the “THU” activity under the “Logistics Administration” business component.
The “THU” page appears.
- Clicking this icon available near
certain fields takes you to the help page of the respective field.
To create a new THU
Click “+THU” button in the right-hand side corner of the page to refresh and clear the existing data in the fields.
Enter the following header details in the right-hand side of the page:
THU ID |
A unique ID identifying the Transport Handling Unit (THU). (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. This field can be a combination of alphabets and numbers and cannot be left blank. |
THU Class |
Use the drop-down list box to select the class of the THU. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. |
THU Description |
The description of the THU. (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. |
Is E-THU |
Select the checkbox to enable E-THU for the THU ID. |
Is Equipment |
Select the checkbox to enable equipment creation for the E THU ID. Note: This field is visible only if the “Is E-THU” is selected. |
THU Size |
Use the drop-down list box to select the THU size. The combo is loaded with “Large”, “Medium” and “Small”. |
Serial Controlled |
Select the checkbox to enable the controlled serial for the THU. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status. The combo is loaded with the values as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Reason Code |
The code identifying the reason for which the status has to be changed. (Alphanumeric, 40). This field is mandatory if the status is “Inactive”. |
Reason Description |
On enter of reason code, the system displays the description of the reason. |

Enter the following details in the “Weight” group box:
Tare Weight |
The tare weight of the THU. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
Max. allowable |
The maximum allowable weight of the THU. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of weight. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “ UOM Masters mapped to the entity Weight” The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Ø The system displays the following details in the “Volume” group box based on the other characteristics given:
Internal |
The internal volume of the THU. This is calculated based on the internal dimensions provided |
External |
The external volume of the THU. This is calculated based on the external dimensions provided |
Volume UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of volume. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM master” activity. |
Enter the following details in the “Other Characteristics” group box:
THU Material |
Use the drop-down list box to select the material in which the THU is made. The combo is loaded with the values “Quick Codes” activity. Mandatory. |
UOM |
The unit of measurement for the THU Material is provided here. This is fetched from UOM Masters in Inventory Management |
Enter the following details in the “Internal Dimensions” group box:
Length |
The length of the interior dimension. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory |
Width |
The width of the interior dimension. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory |
Height |
The height of the interior dimension. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory |
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of interior dimension. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM Masters mapped to the entity Dimensions” The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |
Enter the following details in the “External Dimensions” group box:
Length |
The length of the exterior dimension. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory |
Width |
The width of the exterior dimension. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory |
Height |
The height of the exterior dimension. (Alphanumeric, 28). Mandatory. |
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of exterior dimension. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “UOM Masters mapped to the entity Dimensions” The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory |
Area |
The area of the external dimension. |
Area UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement for area of external dimension. The combo is loaded with “M²” and “M³”. |
Enter the following details in the “Checks” group box:
Check Weight Constraint |
Select the checkbox if you want to check the weight constraint for the THU ID. |
Check Max Volume Constraint |
Select the checkbox if you want to check the maximum volume constraint for the THU ID. |
Check Max Unit Per Pallet Constraint |
Select the checkbox if you want to check the maximum unit per pallet constraint for the THU ID. |
Check THU Stage Mapping |
Select the checkbox if you want to check the THU stage mapping for the THU ID. |
Ø Enter the following details in the “Equipment” group box. These are applicable only if the Is Equipment check box has been checked for the THU:
Equipment Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category to which the equipment belongs. The combo is loaded with the values from “Quick Codes” activity |
Equipment Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of equipment. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. |
Geo Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the geo type. The combo is loaded with the values “Blank”, “Division”, “Location” and “Ship Point”. The system displays “Blank” by default on the launch of the page. |
Geo ID |
The code identifying the division or location. |
Owner Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the owner type of the equipment. The combo is loaded with the values from Quick codes. Viz. Own, contracted etc. |
Maintenance Location |
Use the drop-down list box to select the location where the equipment is maintained. |
Cost Center |
The code identifying the maintenance cost center to be mapped to the equipment. |
Unified Asset Id |
The system displays the code identifying the unified asset ID. |
Enter the following details in the “Capacity” group box:
Max Units Permissible |
The maximum units permissible for the THU. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Equipment Group |
A unique code identifying the equipment group to be mapped to THU. (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. This field is fetched from Equipment Group masters. |
On enter of Equipment Group, the system displays the following:
Description |
The description of the equipment group. |
Status |
The status of the equipment group. |
THU might belong to a Vendor or a Customer. We map the details of the belongings for future tracking.
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Vendor THU |
The unique code identifying the vendor THU reference code. (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |
Vendor ID |
The unique code identifying the vendor ID to be mapped to the THU. (Alphanumeric, 18). Mandatory |
Vendor Name |
On enter of vendor ID the system displays the name of vendor. (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Customer ID |
The unique ID identifying the customer to be mapped to the THU. (Alphanumeric, 18). Mandatory |
Customer Name |
On enter of customer ID, the system displays the name of customer. (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Ship Point ID |
The unique ID identifying the ship point which is to be mapped to the THU. Use help icon or manual entry. Mandatory |
Transfer Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the transfer type which is to be mapped to the THU. |
Ship Point Description |
On enter of ship point ID, the system displays the description of the ship point. |
Vendor Account Number |
The account number of the vendor. (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Customer ID |
The ID that identifies the customer to whom the notification is to be sent. (Alphanumeric, 10). |
Customer Name |
On enter of customer ID, the system displays the name of the customer. (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Email ID |
The email ID of the customer. (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. |
Location Change |
Select the checkbox to indicate the change in location. An email notification is sent to the customer to indicate the change in location of the THU. |
Condition Change |
Select the checkbox to indicate the change in condition. An email notification is sent to the customer to indicate the change in condition of the THU |
Enter the following details in header:
THU Eligible for Cubing |
Select the checkbox to enable the THU eligible for cubing. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Location |
The unique ID identifying the location. Use help icon or manual entry. |
Location Description |
On enter of location ID, the system displays the description of the location. |
Seller Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the seller type which is to be mapped to the THU. Mandatory. |
Channel Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the channel type which is to be mapped to the THU. Mandatory. |
Max Allowable Volume |
The maximum allowable volume of the THU. |
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of the maximum allowable volume of THU. |
Max Number of Items / UIDs |
The maximum number of items or UIDs of THU. |
Tolerance Limit (%) |
The tolerance limit of the THU. |
Note: At least one row should be selected in the multiline.
Click the “Save” button to create new THU details.
On save, the system generates a THU and the status is updated as “Active”.
To modify an existing THU details
Select an option from the drop-down list box and enter the keyword for a specific search.
Click “Get” button to retrieve the THU details in the multiline
Click help icon near “Search” to search the THU ID for which you want to display the details in the multiline.
The following details are displayed in the multiline:

The unique ID that identifies the THU. |
Description |
The description of THU. |
Click on any “THU ID” Data Hyperlink to display the respective THU details in the right-hand side of the page.
The system displays the corresponding THU details in the right-hand side header and tabs. You can modify the required fields.
Click “Save” button to update the THU details.
The system displays the following in the “Data History” group box:
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the THU details. The date and time at which the THU details was created. |
Modified By |
The login ID of the user who modified the THU details. The date and time at which the THU details was last modified. |
