Location
Select the “Location” activity under the “Logistics Administration” business component.
The “Location” page appears.
- Clicking this icon available near
certain fields takes you to the help page of the respective field.
To create a new location
Click “+Locations” button in the right-hand side corner of the page to refresh and clear the existing data in the fields.
Enter the following header details in the right-hand side of the page:
Location |
A unique code identifying the location (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory. This field can be a combination of alphabets and numbers, and cannot be left blank. |
Description |
The description of the location. (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status. The combo is loaded with the values as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |

Location Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of location. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Codes Master” activity, viz (Warehouse, Hub, Booking Office, Airport, Seaport and Railway Terminal). The type is just for reporting purpose. |
Default Planning Mode |
Use the drop-down list box to select the default planning mode. The combo is loaded with the values “Manual”, “Semi-Automated” and “Automated”. The system displays “Manual” by default on the launch of the page. |
Warehouse Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse type. The combo is loaded with “Mother Warehouse” and “Normal Warehouse”. |
Linked Hub |
Use the drop-down list box to select the linked hub. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Codes Master” activity. |
Reason Code |
The code identifying the reason for which the status has to be changed. (Alphanumeric, 20). This field is mandatory if the status is “Inactive”. |
Reason Description |
On enter of reason code, the system displays the description of the reason. |
Enable UID Profiling |
Select the checkbox to enable the UID profiling for the location. |
Cubing |
Select the checkbox to enable cubing for the location. |
Default THU for Cubing |
The unique code identifying the THU ID which is to be made default for cubing. |
THU Description |
The description of the THU. |
Blanket Count for SA |
Select the checkbox to enable blanket count for SA. |
Default ETHU |
The unique code identifying the ETHU ID which is to be made default. |
Enter the location code or retrieve the location from help page and Click “Copy” button to copy the existing location to this new location.

Enter the following details in the “Address Details” group box:
Address Line 1 |
The first line address of the location. (Alphanumeric, 100). Mandatory. |
Address Line 2 |
The second line address of the location. (Alphanumeric, 100). |
Country |
The country in which the location exists. Mandatory. |
State |
The state in which the location exists. Mandatory. |
City |
The city in which the location exists. Mandatory. |
Postal Code |
The postal code of the location. (Numeric, 50). Mandatory. |
Enter the following details in the “Tug Operation” group box:
Auto Create Tug Trip |
Use the drop-down list box to select from “Yes” or “No” to auto create Tug trip or not. |
Yard |
The code identifying the yard which is to be mapped to the trip. Use help icon or manual entry. |
Vehicle Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the vehicle type. The combo is loaded from the vehicle master activity. |
Vehicle ID |
The unique code identifying the vehicle ID, which is to be mapped to the trip. |
Enter the following details in the “Contact Details” group box:
Contact Person |
The name of the contact person in the location. (Alphanumeric, 50). |
Phone |
The phone number of the contact person. (Alphanumeric, 50). |
The email ID of the contact person. (Alphanumeric, 50). |

Fax |
The fax number of the contact person. (Alphanumeric, 50).. |
Enter the following details in the “Location & Time Zone Details” group box:
Latitude |
Indicates the latitude of the location. The value limit is +/- 90. Mandatory |
Longitude |
Indicates the longitude of the location. The value limit is +/- 180. Mandatory |
Time Zone |
Use the drop-down list box to select the time zone of the location. The combo is preloaded during implementation. |
Ø Enter the following details in the “Other Details” group box:
Note: This group box is visible only if the location type is selected as “Railway Terminal”.
Station Length |
Enter the length of the railway station. Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of length. The combo is loaded with all the active UOMs defined in “UOM Master” activity. |
Electrified |
Select the checkbox to view the electrified status of the location which is useful for choosing the type of wagon to be attached while planning trips. |
Click “Shift Details” tab.
Enter the following details in the "Shift Details” multiline:
Shift Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the shift to be mapped for the location. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. |
From Time |
The start time of the period to define the operating hours of the location. his field is mandatory if the “To Time” is specified. Ensure that the “From Time” must be greater than the “To Time’, else the system throws an error message. (Time format) |
To Time |
The end time of the period to define the operating hours of the location. This field is mandatory if the “From Time” is specified. (Time format). |
Sun |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Sunday. |
Mon |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Monday. |
Tue |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Tuesday. |
Wed |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Wednesday. |
Thu |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Thursday. |
Fri |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Friday. |
Sat |
Select this checkbox to map the selected shift to Saturday. |
Click “List of Holidays” tab.
Enter the following details in the “List of Holidays” multiline:
Date |
The date on which the holiday falls in the year. (Date format). |
Day |
The day on which the holiday falls in the year. On saving the Date, the system displays the Day. |
Shift |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the shift mapped for the holiday. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in “Quick Codes” activity. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Customer |
The unique code identifying the customer(s) to be mapped to the location. |
Name |
The name of the customer. |
Contract ID |
The unique ID identifying the contract ID mapped to the customer. |
Cost Center |
The cost center mapped to the customer. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
User |
The unique code identifying the user mapped to the location. |
Name |
On enter of user code, the system displays the name of the user. |
Admin User |
Select this checkbox to map the user as Admin user. |
Planner |
Select this checkbox to map the user as planner. |
Executor |
Select this checkbox to map the user as executor. |
Controller |
Select this checkbox to map the user as controller. |
Default |
Select this checkbox to map the user as default user. |
Note: At least one checkbox must be selected.
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status. The combo is loaded with the values as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory. |

Geography |
The code identifying the geography to which the location is mapped. Mandatory |
Geography Type |
On enter of geography, the system displays the type of geography (Country, State, City, Postal code, Zone, Subzone, Region). |
Status |
The system displays the status of the geography. |
Enter the following details in the group box:
Finance Book |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the finance book in which the location details are to be posted. The combo is loaded with all the finance books configured in the installation for all the companies. The system displays blank by default on launch of the page. (Alphanumeric, 50). Mandatory. |
Cost Center |
The code identifying the cost center to be mapped to the location (Alphanumeric, 50). Mandatory. It is loaded with all cost centers configured in the installation for all the companies. |
Default Account |
The code identifying the default account code to be mapped to the location (Alphanumeric, 50). |
Bank Code |
The code identifying the bank code which is to be mapped to the location. Use help icon or manual entry. It is loaded with all bank codes configured in the installation for all the companies/locations based on selected Finance Book. |
Cash Code |
The code identifying the cash code which is to be mapped to the location. Use help icon or manual entry. It is loaded with all cash codes configured in the installation for all the companies/locations based on selected Finance Book. |
Enter the following details in multiline:
Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category. The combo is loaded with “Finance”, “Legal”, “Operations” and “Sales”. |
Subcategory |
Use the drop-down list box to select the subcategory. The combo is loaded with the values based on the selected category. |
Value |
The value of the category. |
Enter the following details in multiline:
Attribute Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the attribute type. The combo is loaded with “10 Hours Billing”, “5 Hours Billing”, “Billing Methodology”, “Email”, “Mile Definition”, “Preferred”, “Region”, “Template Route” and Vertical”. |
Attribute Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to select the attribute applicability. The combo is loaded with “Billing”, “Financial Dimension”, “Planning”, “Report” and “Routing”. |
Attribute Value |
The value of the attribute. |

Enter the following details in multiline:
Activity |
Use the drop-down list box to select the activity that can be carried out in the location. The combo is loaded with values from Quick Code. |
Applicable For |
Use the drop-down list box to select the required option. The combo is loaded with the values “All”, “THU”, and “Commodity”. |
THU/Commodity |
Use the drop-down list box to select the THU or commodity ID. The combo is loaded with the values THU or Commodity IDs. |
Quantity |
The quantity of THU or commodity. |
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of quantity. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in UOM master. |
Duration |
The duration of time calculated for each THU or commodity. |
Duration UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement of duration. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in UOM master. |
Click the “Save” button to create new location details.
On save, the system generates a location ID and the status is updated as “Active”.
Click “Map Location Coordinates” link, Map location coordinates page appears. You can select the location coordinates from the google map and record the latitude and longitude details and transfer the coordinates.
Click “Warehouse Properties” link, “Warehouse Properties” window pop-ups. This window opens only when the location type is warehouse.
The system displays the following in the header:
Warehouse Code |
The system defaults the warehouse code mapped to the location. |
Warehouse Description |
The description of the warehouse code. |
Enter the following details in the “Location Details” group box:
Allocated Area |
The total allocated area for the warehouse code. |
Allocated Inbound Staging Area |
The total allocated inbound staging area for the warehouse code. |
Allocated Office Area |
The total allocated office area for the warehouse code. |
Area UOM |
Use the drop-down list to select the unit of measure of the area. The combo is loaded with “M²”, “M³”. |
Total Storage Area |
The total storage area of the warehouse. |
Allocated Outbound Staging Area |
The total allocated outbound staging area for the warehouse code. |
Allocated Other Area |
The total allocated office area for the warehouse code. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
Zone |
The code identifying the zone. Use help icon or manual entry. |
Zone Area |
The total zone area. |
Click radio button near Location or Zone to map the warehouse properties to the Location or Zone.
Click “Save” button to update the warehouse properties.
Click “Maintain Zone” link, to maintain the zone for the location.
To modify an existing location
Select an option from the drop-down list box and enter the keyword for a specific search.
Click “Get” button to retrieve the location details in the multiline.
Click help icon near “Search” to search the location for which you want to display the details in the multiline.

The unique code that identifies the location. |
Description |
The description of the location. |
Type |
The type description of location. |
Click on any “Location” Data Hyperlink to display the respective location details in the right-hand side of the page.
The system displays the corresponding location details in the right hand side header and tabs. You can modify the required fields.
Click “Save” button to update the location details.
The system displays the following in the “Data History” group box:
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the location details. The date and time at which the location details were created. |
Modified By |
The login ID of the user who modified the location details. The date and time at which the location details were last modified. |
